Liverpool search for a central defender has continued with reports rife that they have reached the agents of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
The Reds have suffered in the absence of two of their main defenders in Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez and according to Gazetta dello Sport via The Express, Jurgen Klopp wants the position secured by going for Milenkovic in the summer.
Liverpool is said to have been in contact with the player’s agent as they consider a bid for the Serbian international with Fiorentina looking for a fee of £30m for the defender, whose contract expires in the summer of 2022.
The deal however will be dependent on how January loan signing Ozan Kabak fares during his time at Anfield with the Reds having the option of making the deal a permanent one should he impress.
Kabak has only played twice in the Premier League for Liverpool, but both games ended in defeat with five goals conceded to Leicester and Everton.
