Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is set to sit out of the club’s next four games.
Henderson has been used in defense in an injury-ravaged Liverpool side and his absence will be a blow for The Reds who have fallen further down the league table following their bad run; the player having been forced off in their Merseyside Derby loss over the weekend.
Daily Stars reports that England International will be out for four to five games due to a groin injury. With manager, Jurgen Klopp admitted losing Henderson was a huge blow.
The move means that the player will miss the club’s league matches against Sheffield United, Chelsea, Fulham, and Wolves as well as the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against RB Leipzig.
It is yet not clear I the club will allow the player to be called by England who are due to start their World Cup 2022 qualification campaign against San Marino, Albania, and Poland at the end of March.
