Laliga giants FC Barcelona have received a timely boost with the news that defender Ronald Araujo will be available for selection ahead of their Wednesday Champions League tie with PSG.
Araujo returned to training on Tuesday as the Blaugrana continued their preparations for their trip to the French capital, as they face an uphill battle after trailing 4-1 from the first leg.
The news is a boost for Barca who will be without the services of defender Gerard Pique who is out with an injury; Araujo having suffered a fresh injury in the club’s last week victory over Sevilla a week ago.
While the return of the Uruguayan is a welcome boost, manager Ronald Koeman is expected to partner Samuel Umititi and Clement Lenglet at the heart of the team’s defender although Oscar Mingueza might be deployed at center back if Sergino Dest starts at right-back.
Barca’s long-term absentees still include Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho and Sergi Roberto but the trio is expected to return soon for the Catalonia giants as they seek to wrestle the league title from rivals Atletico and Real Madrid.
