English Premier League giants Manchester United may scoop another fine Portguese star since Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.
According to reports in England, United have seemingly switched focus from Jadon Sancho to Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves. The 22-year-old has simply emerged as a cheaper and more valuable option.
“United believed that amount was too much for the England international, and although BVB are seemingly willing to lower their asking price for the player in the upcoming window, the Premier League giants have now identified a cheaper alternative, according to the Daily Telegraph,” as reported by Soccer Laduma.
“It is claimed the Manchester club is now after Sporting Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves. The 22-year-old joined Sporting from Familicao for just €6.5 million (R115 million) ahead of the current campaign and has impressed for the Liga NOS leaders since, scoring 15 times in 21 league appearances.
“Goncalves also reportedly has a release clause of just £51.7 million (R1 billion), making him a lot more affordable than Sancho,” the report added.
Meanwhile, Man United are in Italy for a big night against AC Milan in a Europa League last 32 second leg after a 1-1 draw in Manchester last week.
