Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos is set to miss tonight's Champions League quarter-final return leg against Bayern Munich.
PSG revealed on Tuesday Marquinho's suffered a right adductor injury and is not expected to return to training for at least 12 days. The 26-year-old will also be out of Saturday's Ligue tie against St Etienne as well as next Wednesday's French Cup quarter-finals game against Angers.
Mauricio Pochettino was confident the defender would be fit to face Bayern Munich but the Frenchman is facing a lengthy period on the sidelines.
"In principle, he could be part of the group. Of course, he won’t be able to start the match, but he could be on the bench," Poch said during a press conference on Monday.
PSG will also miss the services of striker Mauro Icardi as well as defenders Layvin Kurzawa and Juan Bernat due to fitness issues.
Marco Verrati and Alessandro Florenzi have been included in the squad after they missed the first leg due to testing positive for coronavirus.
