Argentine winger Ángel Di María entered Paris Saint-Germain record books after assisting his side’s only goal in their tie against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Di Maria floated in the corner that was thumped in by defender Marquinhos header to give PSG the lead with the move being the exact same combination that gave the French giants the lead in last season’s semi-final against RB Leipzig too-albeit from a free-kick instead.
The assist on Wednesday was Di Maria’s 103rd for the club a feat that puts him joint top in club history alongside Safet Susic.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United man will hope to beat that record when they come against City next week in the second leg and have a chance to extend the feat in their remaining Ligue One games.
That’s Angel Di Maria’s 103rd assist for PSG - he is now the joint top assist producer in club history alongside Safet Susic. (Via @JulienMaynard)— Get French Football News (@GFFN) April 28, 2021
