Riyad Mahrez's brace sends Manchester City to their first Champions League final

Manchester City advanced to their first Champions League finals following a 2-0 (4-1 on aggregate) victory over Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday evening.

Riyad Mahrez scored a brace in both halves before Angel Di Maria was sent off for a foul off the ball on Fernandinho who captained City.

Penalty claim

A ball was played inside the City area and it clipped Zinchenko near the top of his arm and bounced away. The referee paused before pointing to the penalty spot. There was a quick VAR check and it appeared to hit him on the top of the shoulder and the penalty was canceled.

Mahrez goal

Ederson started the move and it was Riyad Mahrez who finished it. Zinchenko had the ball on the left before cutting it back to De Bruyne and the Belgian's shot was blocked.

The rebound fell to Mahrez, who still had plenty to do, and he was able to slide the ball under Navas from an extremely tight angle to give the hosts the lead.

Mahrez brace

City showed pure clash and grabbed the second and without a doubt, the Premier League side was heading for their first Champions League final. PSG were hit with a blistering counter-attack as De Bruyne slid a perfect pass through for Foden who lifted the ball to Mahrez to net his second of the game.

Di Maria Red Card

PSG were down to ten men as Di Maria received his marching orders after kicking out at Fernandinho off the pitch.

City will now meet the winners between Chelsea and Real Madrid who play on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge.
