South Africa assistant referee Shaun Oliver has passed on after sustaining injuries in a car accident.
Olive was involved in a serious car accident on Tuesday where he broke his left leg and a fractured pelvis, a urethral injury, and a broken nose. The reigning 2019/20 PSL Assistant Referee of the Season has however passed on this morning while receiving treatment.
"The PSL is saddened by the passing of 2019/20 PSL assistant referee of the season, Shaun Olive," a statement from PSL read.
"The League will observe a moment of silence in his honor ahead of this weekend’s Nedbank Cup, DStv Premiership, Diski Challenge, and GladAfrica Championship fixtures."
