Chelsea FC manager Thomas Tuchel wants a re-union with midfielder Marco Verratti at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel was Verratti’s coach at PSG for two and a half years with the player having spent most of his senior career with PSG, playing close to 350 games for the club since joining them in 2012.
According to reports from 90Mins, the German tactician has spoken to Chelsea officials about his interest in working with the player again with sources close to Verratti indicating he would consider a move to the Premier League.
Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City have all shown interest in Verratti in the past but they were not successful with most of the cubs said to be worried about his injury issues. While Chelsea is currently well-stocked in central midfield, it is said that Tuchel is willing to sacrifice one of his existing players so a move for Verratti could realistically go ahead.
The player is currently nursing a knee injury that makes him a doubt to play for Italy at Euro 2020 for Italy this summer but it is believed that the setback isn’t something Chelsea is worried about.
The 28-year-old has won seven Ligue 1 titles with PSG, including four domestic trebles.
