The equation is simple - only two of Milan, Napoli and Juventus will finish in this season's Champions League places.
That means there will be one heavyweight casualty in Italy's top-flight and it's anybody's guess who the unlucky "odd one out" will be. Here's the status quo in terms of the league table and the key fixtures to come on matchday 38:
🔑 Key fixtures & permutations
On paper, Milan's assignment is by far the trickiest, with a trip to free-scoring Atalanta. Of course, this does mean that their destiny is in their own hands and a win would secure their place in the top four. Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta side has already secured Champions League qualification by virtue of their superior head-to-head record vs fifth-placed Juve.
Amazingly, Milan has won 15 of their 18 away games this season, but only won once in the last 11 H2Hs with Atalanta, with six of those matches ending all-square.
Juventus and Napoli will be confident that they can get their side of the bargain done, with both sides in action against mid-table teams Bologna and Hellas Verona respectively. A surprise win for Milan against Atalanta would put a cat among the pigeons and almost certainly be detrimental to Juve's aspirations of making the top four.
