England manager Pep Guardiola has praised his Man City counterpart Pep Guardiola on how he has managed Phil Foden.
Foden has been one of the brightest players in Europe this season and after being included in the England squad for the Euros, and according to Southgate, the player has been allowed to develop in the right way at his club.
"I doubt he is peaking right now, which is incredibly exciting. He's had a fantastic season. I guess we all sat and wondered, 'will he get his chance' and 'will it be the right way?', and you have to say that Pep has done incredibly well. He has allowed him to develop and give him time to become a little physically stronger.
"We have always known that the ability is there. He (Pep) plays him (Foden) more often on the edge or as a ten instead of an eight, so it is interesting to observe from the outside. But what impressed me most was his willingness to score. It's not just about creating."
No better feeling!! Champions! 🏆 Living my dream and grateful for every moment 💙 pic.twitter.com/0R252UP6nS— Phil Foden (@PhilFoden) May 23, 2021
