Villarreal CF star man Gerard Moreno equaled a record for the club after netting the opener in their Europa League final clash against Manchester United on Wednesday night.
More had given the Laliga side a 29th-minute lead only for his strike to be canceled by Edinson Cavani earlier in the second half with the game forced to go to penalties after the best couldn’t be separated on normal time.
The 29-year-old has been brilliant this season for the club scoring a total of 29 goals and assisting another 10 across all competitions for his club this season.
By bagging 29 goals in a season, Moreno equaled Giuseppe Rossi’s record as Villarreal’s all-time top scorer with 82 goals.
