Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is ready to fight for his place at the club despite the latest reports linking him with a move to Atletico Madrid.
Keita has not been lucky at Anfield with injuries having hampered his progress with Liverpool said to be willing to listen to offers for the player.
The Athletic reports that while selling him is an option for the club, Keita wants to have an important role at the club next season more so after the departure of Gini Wijnaldum who is on his way to Barcelona.
The Guinea international arrived at the club from RB Leipzig in 2018 and has shown a glimpse of what he can do to a team every time he has been fit.
The sale of Keita would force Liverpool to go into the market for a midfielder and with the club not having enough funds to buy every player they wish, Keita might be given another season to show what he can do to the Jurgen Klopp side before they can make a decision on whether to offload him or not.
Naby Keita has only made 32 starts in 3 years at Liverpool. Gini Wijnaldum made 34 starts in the Premier League this season. pic.twitter.com/WxUVsr4vP2— Watch LFC (@Watch_LFC) May 24, 2021
