AFC Leopards moved to the second on the log following a 1-0 victory over Mathare United in an FKF Premier League match staged at Ruaraka Grounds.
Leopards started with intention of scoring early in the game and were on the attack in the seventh minute but Lennox Ogutu made clearance for a corner that resulted in nothing.
A minute later, Mathare found themselves trailing courtesy of Elvis Rupia's curler that saw Job Ochieng beaten.
Leopards went close to grabbing the second from a corner that was quickly taken with Lewis Bandi and the ball met Clyde Sinaji whose effort hit the bar.
In the second half, there was an injury concern after Washington Munene collided with Martin Ongori and the play was stopped as medics attended to the duo. After some treatment, Munene returned to the field while Ongori was stretched to the ambulance.
United were reduced to ten men with twelve minutes remaining after David Ochieng was sent off for a foul on Elvis Rupia.
In the stoppage time, Leopards were also forced to finish with ten men after Collins Sichenje was shown the second yellow card of the game and went for an early shower.
Vihiga United 0-1 Gor Mahia
At Mumias Complex Stadium, Gor Mahia beat Vihiga United 1-0 to move to the fifth on the log, thanks to Clifton Miheso's first-half goal.
Gor Mahia made the first attempt as Miheso had the ball on the left-wing, made a good delivery but Mustapha Oduor collected it easily.
K'Ogalo's goalkeeper Gad Mathews was forced to make a save to deny Vihiga captain Okulo from scoring, punching the ball back into play.
After thirty minutes of play, Miheso was released through on goal and was left one on one with Mustapha but once again could not put the ball past Vihiga's shot-stopper.
Five minutes to stoppage time, Miheso finally opened scoring for the Green Army with a long-range shot pat stubborn Mustapha and the visitors led.
