Spain has been hit by the shock news that captain Sergio Busquets has tested positive for Covid-19.
The country is currently preparing for the forthcoming Euros which kicks off this week and according to BBC Sport, the Catalonia-born midfielder schemer has been forced to pull out of Spain's final friendly warm-up game against Lithuania in midweek.
Apart from the Barcelona man, the entire Spain squad all tested negative for the virus following a round of mandatory testing in the last 24 hours with Busquets now forced to enter into self-isolation.
With the setback, the Spanish federation, The RFEF, have confirmed they plan to field a selection of players from their U21 squad against Lithuania as part of an extended measure to prevent potential infections.
Spain is set to begin their Euro 2020 campaign with a Group E opener against Sweden on June 14 in Seville.
