Released Manchester United keeper Sergio Romero is set to reunite with manager Jose Mourinho at AS Roma.
While clubs are circling around the signature of the Argentine since he will be coming as a free agent, the player is keen on joining Mourinho according to reports from Football Italia.
Romero has been speaking about his life at United where he admitted that he was fancying staying in England or returning back to Italy.
“I was let go by United and we are working to see where I could play next. Thank God, I have several offers in Europe. The clubs who asked after me are all in Europe, so we’ll see which is the best option.
“It could be England or Italy, we’ll see. And if it’s Spain, that will be a new experience, but I also have to consider my daughters, who are growing up,” he said.
According to the reports, of teams who have shown interest in the player, the Roma deal looks the strongest.
Romero and Mourinho helped United to a Europa League trophy and there is a feeling that the player respects the Portuguese for valuing him when they worked at Old Trafford.
