France coach Didier Deschamps has backed Kylian Mbappe to light up Euro 2020 despite the speculations surrounding his future at Paris Saint Germain.
Mbappe is yet to sign a new deal with the Ligue One giants with speculations rife that he might join Real Madrid in the summer.
“Speculation is part of the game. What is going on outside, Kylian is clear on that, but he knows why he is here with the France team. He will have a decision to make, and he will make it when he sees fit. At the moment, he is still under contract with PSG and supposed to be there next year.
“On what can happen, I don’t know. He is totally in control, but he is in peace and serenity with us. He is focused on the France team,” Deschamps is quoted by Goal.
France will need all their players to be on top of their game as they are in a group dubbed ‘The Group of Death’ where they have Germany, Portugal, and Hungary.
The reigning World champions get their Euro 2020 campaign underway against arch-rivals Germany on June 15.
