Manchester United and England star forward Marcus Rashford has rated Virgil Van Djik and Sergio Ramos as the finest number fives he has ever challenged himself against internationally.
Rashford is set to inspire England to 2020 UEFA Euro glory this month, and was available to chat with his club's media ahead of the tournament this weekend.
Asked the ever interesting question about the best individual opponents he's faced, Rashford came up with the two Netherlands and Spain's supreme center backs Van Djik and Ramos.
"I think an individual is different to a unit," Rashy said to United's media.
"Some teams defend really well as units and it’s teams like Burnley, for example, who do everything as a four. So if one pushes up, they all push up. If one drops, they all drop. It can be, at times, difficult to find space.
“But then there are some top individual defenders – van Dijk, Ramos. I thought, when we played against Real Madrid in a friendly, that Varane played and he was quite tough. So there are a few people," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Three Lions will start the tournament against Croatia in Group D.
