Spanish defender Jordi Alba has backed manager Ronald Koeman to continue with the club for another season.
Koeman has been under pressure at Barca with a section of the media reporting that the club wants to do away with him but according to Alba, the Dutchman deserved to continue with the club since he had done some great job.
“Koeman has done a great job since he has joined. We have improved. He deserved to continue,” Alba is quoted by Marca.
The defender further talked about the club’s new signings Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero saying they were great additions to the club.
“I like all of them. I think the arrival of Agüero and Eric Garcia is great. They have spoken to me well about Kun and I know Eric is good while also being a homegrown player,” he added.
On wearing the Spain armband, the defender added: “Wearing the armband for Spain doesn’t condition me. It is a pride to be the captain of the national team, even if it is because of some unfortunate circumstances. Ramos and Busquets helped me a lot when I was young. Now I’ll try to do that.”
