Laporte: We would beat Sweden 9/10 times

Aymeric Laporte, a new recruit for Spain, was unable to explain why his team drew 0-0 with Sweden in their Euro 2020 opener.

In a hot and exhausting night in Sevilla, La Roja appeared to run out of ideas in the final half-hour, and Laporte was at a loss to explain the result on his competitive senior debut.

“The team is frustrated based on the effort we put in tonight”, he told a post-match interview with El Chiringuito TV.

“Out of ten games like this we would have won nine of them.

Despite Laporte's pragmatism in the face of the setback, Enrique is expected to face mounting pressure to change his starting lineup for the team's next match, on June 19, against Poland.

After his blatant miss in a dominant first half, Morata's position as Enrique's key striker will be the main topic of discussion.

Moreno is the most natural substitute for the former Chelsea striker, but his late miss has hurt his cause, and Enrique may reshuffle his choices when they return to the Estadio de La Cartuja this weekend.
