It seems Rodrigo De Paul has officially found a new home at the La Liga's defending champions, Atletico Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on his Twitter page that De Paul will be confirmed officially as an Atleti signing:
Atlético Madrid are already planning medicals for Rodrigo de Paul - deal almost done for €35m to Udinese, just final details to be completed then it’s gonna be signed. Saúl received many approaches and he’s expected to leave Atlético in the next weeks. ⚪️🔴 #Atléti— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 15, 2021
Rodrigo has had an impressive season, registering 9 goals and 10 assists for Udinese. Some may argue he should have had even more considering the number of chances his Udinese teammates missed.
De Paul, who joined Udinese from Valencia in 2016, will make his return to La Liga with this deal. He has spent the last five seasons in Serie A and has established himself as one of the league's most admired players.
The Argentine, who has established himself as a regular for his country, has outgrown his hometown of Udine while catching the attention of Europe's biggest clubs. As we all know, Juventus and Milan have been linked.
