Arsenal and Ryan Bertrand’s representatives are deadlocked in talks & the club has ended their interest in the player.
Arsenal were in 'parallel talks' with an alternative option, that is understood to be younger and represents an option in the future. The Gunners were interested in signing Bertrand on a free transfer from Southampton.
Leicester City were reportedly keen to sign the left-back with the player believed to have accepted the Foxes contract offer.
Bertrand became a free transfer after his contract with Soton ended after seven years on the south coach club.
"Everyone associated with Southampton would like to thank Ryan for his contribution to the history of the club, and for all the memories he has helped create for our fans," a statement read.
The 31-year-old has made 240 appearances for the Saints since he joined the club from Chelsea in 2015.
