Italy has now not conceded a goal for over 1,000 minutes after their win against Wales on Sunday night.
The Azzurri have gone 10 games (not including their last fixture against Wales) in a row keeping a clean sheet since Donny van de Beek netted against them last year in a Nations League fixture against the Netherlands.
The outing means that the national team has now surpassed the most recent such streak, held by Azeglio Vicini’s side throughout 1990 and into the World Cup, a record which was eventually broken by Claudio Canniggia in the semi-final.
The teams however still have a lot of work to break the all-time record held by the legendary Dino Zoff and his defence who went 1,143 minutes without shipping a goal.
