Ousmane Dembele withdraws from France squad due to knee injury

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has been forced to withdraw from the France national team due to an injury.

The 24-year-old limped off with an injury during France’s frustrating draw with Hungary at Euro 2020 on Saturday.

Dembele entered the fray in the 57th minute, replacing Adrien Rabiot with the Les Blues trailing 1-0.

He was then replaced by Thomas Lemar with three minutes to go after picking up an injury.

Dembele's time at Barcelona has been heavily plagued by injuries, which have had a negative impact on his development.

He however managed to stay fit this past season, missing just six games as he made 44 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 and assisting five.

It's not clear how long he will be out, but he will hope to be back in time for the 2021/22 season.
