Spanish youngster Pedri has refused to sign a new deal with FC Barcelona as he wants a pay rise.
The midfielder who is currently with the Spain national team in the Euros where he has been one of their star performers has his current deal with Barcelona ending in 2022 with the option for another two years.
Okdiario's chief football pundit Eduardo Inda said on El Chiringuito via Tribal Football claims that the player's agents have sought a salary improvement in talks with president Joan Laporta which the latter has refused.
"There is trouble because Pedri wants to earn more, logically, and Barcelona does not give him what he asks for. Pedri asks to earn the same as Ansu Fati - and Ansu earns more than what is offered by the club to Pedri," Inda said.
Pedri shares the same agent as Manchester City winger Ferran Torres and there have been suggestions that the player might consider his future at the club if he is not treated the same way as some of his peers in the team.
While there is no cause of alarm as his agents believe Laporta can change his stance, Barcelona will be concerned if they can't reach an agreement this summer.
