The Croatian FA has confirmed that winger Ivan Perisic has tested positive for Covid and will hence miss their Euro 2020 game against Spain on Monday.
Croatia is set to play Spain on Monday afternoon in the round of 16 after they qualified from a group containing England, the Czech Republic, and Scotland.
The player is set to miss his country's quarterfinal clash if they beat Spain on Monday meaning the only likely possibility is in him playing in the semi-finals if they make it to the stage.
The news won't is a good one for Inter who had hoped that the player impresses in the tournament so that they offload him in the summer as they seek to reduce their wage bill.
Reports indicate that Inter needs to reduce their player wage bill by 15% this summer, as well as raising at least 70 million from player sales as Perisic will be one of the players including Hachraf Hakimi set to be sold by the club; the latter having agreed to join French giants PSG.
