Sevilla may sell 70m Kounde to Tottenham

Jules Kounde, a Sevilla defender, has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, and Marca reports that the Spanish club is willing to sell him for the right price.

Sevilla is said to value the player at roughly €70 million, according to reports. They're in financial trouble and will have to sell a key player to make room for future additions.

There is no doubt that the French international is a gifted player with the potential to evolve into one of Europe's top defenders. However, Spurs will struggle to match the €70 million (£60 million) asking price for the defender until they sell.

Manchester City have been linked with a deal for England striker Harry Kane, and Kane's exit may help the Londoners afford the French defender.

Spurs will need to add quality defense reinforcements this summer, and Kounde could be a good long-term option for them.

Last season, the 22-year-old dominated the Spanish league, and he could be the ideal long-term replacement for Toby Alderweireld. He and Joe Rodon might build a solid alliance for years to come.

Last season, Kounde scored four goals and added an assist in all competitions. Currently on international duty with France, the Frenchman will be hoping to help his country win the European Championships this summer.
