North London's Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly tabled a bid to sign Houssem Aouar from Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyonnais.
According to the French outlet Le10 Sport, as reported by Goal, the 23-year-old French midfielder has gone absent from the club's preseason start.
"The disgruntled attacker has reportedly been absent from Lyon's pre-season training," Goal wrote.
"Arsenal have made an official bid for Lyon forward Houssem Aouar, claims Le10 Sport, with discussions between the sides said to be progressing well.
The report concluded to stress that Arsenal's success to land the player lies on delivering on Lyon's €20 million expectation.
"The Gunners have been linked to the French player in previous windows, and signing him could come down to them meeting Lyon's asking price of at least €20 million (£17m/$24m)," the outlet concluded.
Aouar scored eight goals and made four assists in 33 games for Lyon, where he played in central midfield, attacking midfield, and left-midfield.
