Spanish giants Barcelona have unveiled their 2021/22 away kit, which is meant to promote women empowerment.
The kit, a simple purple design, a colour described by Nike as “Purple Pulse”, is the latest commitment to the club's cause of helping out the local community.
The new kit moves away from the famous blue and red colours from the home shirt, instead, going with subtle mashed together to form a coll purple, which is normally associated with the fight for gender equality.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of what is considered the first meeting of the Barcelona women's football club.
"... The new away kit is presented under the 'MORE THAN' campaign, promoted by the Club this season, which includes the pillars that make Barca a unique entity around the world," read part of the statement on the club's website.
"The design of the jersey is framed under one of these pillars, 'More than empowerment', which highlights FC Barcelona’s commitment to women's football and the role of women in sport,"
