Tusker FC coach Robert Matano says the past two results against AFC Leopards will not affect the team’s motivation as they prepare to face Ingwe for the third time this season on Friday in Thika.
Leopards have won twice against Tusker, 2-1 in the first leg and 1-0 in the Cup quarters last month.
"Those results are in the past and will not affect us. It is history and we are only thinking about the match on Friday. We want to go out and do our best to ensure we get the three points," Matano told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, despite missing six key players, coach Matano remains confident the team will be out to do its best and get a result.
Boniface Muchiri and Henry Meja, two crucial players in the squad are away with the Harambee Stars U23 team in Ethiopia, skipper Hashim Sempala is suspended having accumulated five yellow cards while Luke Namanda and Kevin Okoth are both injured.
"We will miss them but there are people who will stand in and this is now their chance to show why they play for Tusker. They will have to prove their worth. The spirit is high and everyone is ready to play,” said the coach."
The match will kick off at 3:00 PM EAT.
