Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney somewhat ignored a beautiful gesture from the club's fans last weekend.
United visited Rooney's current club Derby County for a preseason friendly. As the game was a few moments away from the start, the home fans chanted "He Goes By The Name Of Wayne Rooney."
The former striker was asked to share his thoughts on not responding at all during the moment.
"Of course, I have a lot of respect for the club," Rooney said as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
"It is a club I love. I spent 13 years there. I am on the touchline as Derby County manager, so my loyalty has to go to Derby County.
"But at the Europa League final, I'm there supporting them on. There will be moments again where I am there as a Man United fan but in today's game my full focus and attention was on Derby County," he concluded.
Up next for the Red Devils is another preseason friendly against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
