West Bromwich Albion midfielder Matheus Pereira is on the verge of completing a move to West Ham United.
Perreira was one of the top performers for the Baggies in the Premier League last season where they were relegated and it was expected that teams would circle for his signature together with a number of his teammates.
Journalist Ekrem Konur on Twitter reports that a deal is close between the Hammers and the player with the move set to be confirmed officially this week.
Pereira first joined West Brom at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, initially on a loan deal from Sporting Lisbon. He fired the Baggies to promotion with eight goals and 16 assists before signing permanently for an estimated £8 million.
In his first season in the English top-flight, the Brazilian scored 11 goals and assisted a further six in an outing that saw him get linked with Saudi club Al-Hilal and Liverpool.
The reports from Konur claim that West Brom is demanding £22m for the playmaker with West Ham keen on adding more firepower to the team after finishing an impressive sixth last season.
Loanee Jesse Lingard, who shone in the second half of last season at the London Stadium, is looking likely to stay at Manchester United, while Felipe Anderson has also left. Andriy Yarmolenko and Jarrod Bowen could also be heading out of the exit door this summer.
