Express FC will face Malawi side Nyasa Big Bullets in the finals of the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup.
Nyasa Big Bullets advanced to the finals of the Kagame Cup following a 4-2 victory on penalties against Azam FC. Bright Munthali opened the scoring for Nyasa Bullets before Nickson Nyasulu put the ball into his own net to level the scores.
The Tanzanian side took the lead for the first time in the match thanks to Tepsie Evance's second-half goal. Bullets refused to go down and with eight minutes to stoppage time, Bright Munthali leveled the scores to force the game to go to extra time.
After the extra 30 minutes, the two sides could not be separated and had to go to penalties. Big Bullets edged Azam 4-2 on penalties to book a final date with Uganda Premier League champions Express.
Bullets will now face Express in the finals of the tournament set to be played on the 14th of August.
The winner of the tournament will pocket $30000 with the runners up getting $20000. The team which will finish third will go him with $10000. The third-place play-off will be between Azam and KMKM FC.
