Tottenham Hotspurs's manager Nuno Espirito Santo has assured Dane Scarlett's biggest fans that the youngster will make a full debut against FC Paços de Ferreira.
The two clubs will be kicking off the new UEFA Europa Conference League preliminary round qualifiers, with Spurs being the away side in Portugal on Thursday night at the Estádio Capital do Móvel.
With plenty of changes expected against a side that is not exactly bullying the league in Portugal and a key Premier League trip to Wolves on Sunday, Nuno confirmed that the 17-year-old Dane Scarlett will start.
"He's going to start the game tomorrow," said Espirito Santo as quoted Football London.
"We have big, big expectations regarding Dane because he did so well in pre-season which you recall the game against Leyton Orient in which he scored and he was involved in many of the games in pre-season.
"He's a young talent that we want to develop and we want to make him better and want to make him grow because there's a lot of potential there."
Nuno continued: "I think it should be our idea in the club to use opportunities for young players to play. When we have talent we must believe in them and go for it," the former Benfica coach concluded.
