Heung-min Son scores again as Tottenham go top, Leeds draw at Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur kept their perfect start to the new season after beating Watford 1-0 at home in an English Premier League clash.

Heung-min Son scored the lone goal for Nuno Espirito's side's side, their third consecutive 1-0 win.

Spurs almost took the lead in the 22nd minute when Japhet Tanganga won himself enough space to meet a resulting corner and fired the ball at goal, but the keeper did well to stop his effort.

The goal came though in the 42nd minute after keeper Daniel Bachmann seemed to hesitate thinking his defence would clear a floated mid-range free-kick into the box by Heung-Min Son, but they all missed it and it ended up in the back of the net.

Watford could have equalised but Juraj Kucka missed an absolute sitter in the second half after connecting with a cross inside the penalty box.

Dele Alli almost made it 2-0 after receiving a killer pass and let it fly from close range, but it flew just wide of the left post.

Harry Kane wasted a great opportunity after he managed to control a rebound and from close range slammed it towards the left side of the goal.

In the end, they managed to hold on to the lead and finally pocketed maximum points, which saw them move at the top of the table on nine-point.

Elsewhere, Patrick Bamford scored a late equaliser as Leeds United drew 1-1 away at Burnley.

The hosts took a 61st-minute lead when Matthew Lowton took aim and his effort deflected off Chris Wood to beat the goalkeeper.

Bamford then found himself in the right place at the right time to pounce on a rebound inside the box and gleefully rifled the ball home with four minutes to go.
