Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has suffered a fresh blow in his bid to find a new club.
Wilshere who last week admitted that he felt English clubs had locked doors for him in his bid to return to active football has been training in Italy in a bid to find a new team but according to the latest reports, he might wait longer to be back to action.
Arsenal has been training with Italian Serie B side Como who hoped that the 29-year-old would help them to promotion to the Serie A but they stated that they couldn't sign the player because he doesn’t have an EU Passport.
“Jack Wilshere is training with Como 1907 by Jack Gattuso in these hours. But he cannot be registered in #SerieBKT because of the non-EU passport," the club tweeted.
Wilshere has been a free agent since being released by AFC Bournemouth at the end of last season.
The player has had injury issues since his Arsenal days; a club he left in 2018 for West Ham United.
Bournemouth picked him up for the second half of last season after he had spent several months on the sidelines without work.
He helped them to reach the semi-final of the Championship playoff, but after they failed to return to the Premier League, they released him.
