Barcelona will be without striker Martin Braithwaite for up to four months with a knee injury.
The Dane is set to undergo surgery on his left knee after it failed to respond to conservative treatment.
A statement from the club confirmed this;
"The first team player Martin Braithwaite has a femoropatellar injury in his left knee which has not responded to conservative treatment
"The Danish striker will undergo surgery in the coming days. The Club will publish a new injury update when the process has taken place.
"The Danish international has made three appearances in the league so far this season totaling 226 minutes. On the opening day of the season against Real Sociedad at Camp Nou, the striker scored twice and provided an assist for another goal,"
Barcelona confirmed after the 2-1 win over Getafe that the striker was withdrawn due to an issue with his knee.
His absence will be a huge blow to coach Ronald Koeman, who only has Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong, and Philippe Coutinho as the only recognized forwards.
