Pochettino admits PSG should be doing better after Brugge draw

Paris Saint Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that they should have done better in their clash against Belgian side Club Brugge.

The French giants were held to a 1-1 draw by Brugge on Wednesday despite parading a star-studded squad for the tie.

Speaking to RMC Sports after the game, the Argentine refused to admit that their failure was due to the difficulties in finding Messi-Neymar and Mbappe to understand each other but rather a lack of solidity across the team.

“We know we have to improve. That’s not an issue for me. I’m happy with the forwards’ defensive work. We need to be tougher in other sectors of play. They need playing time to get to know and understand each other; to play together to succeed, but that wasn’t the issue tonight.”

“We weren’t solid enough for a Champions League match. We’re not happy with the result or the performance, we know we have to do better. We have a magnificent group of players, what we need to do now is find a defensive and offensive structure. We need time,” the coach said.

Things don't get easier for PSG as they are up against Lyon in Ligue 1 in their next game.
