Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is positive Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo could form a formidable relationship on the pitch if paired.
Ronaldo and Cavani haven't played together as the Uruguayan has been on the sidelines with injury. The pair could start together for the first time after OGS confirmed Cavani has resumed training having sustained a slight strain while on international duty.
"It’s exciting to see them two together," Solskjaer told journalists.
"I'm sure that'll be a good partnership as well, [two players] wanting to be on the end of things. We’ve seen some teams dropping deeper against us, not giving us as much space in behind and that’s definitely two boys you’d like to have around the goal when that’s the scenario. I can see them two working well together."
The Red Devils will be keen to bounce back after being eliminated from the Carabao Cup following a 1-0 loss to West Ham United in the midweek.
