Laliga giants FC Barcelona are working round the clock to find a new club for defender Samuel Umtiti.
Umtiti is being considered surplus to requirements by the club and after failing to take a wage cut, the cut considers him an expensive burden that they must offload in the next transfer window.
According to SPORT, the player isn't in the plans for Ronald Koeman with the Dutchman happy to see his back; the player is interested in leaving the club as he wants regular game time to boost his chances of getting back in the French team ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Since he arrived at Barcelona in 2016, the French center-back has had a spell of highs and lows. He was a crucial part of the Barcelona defense in his first two seasons at the club, replacing Javier Mascherano in the heart of the defence.
His outing saw him be one of the most dependable players for France in the 2018 World Cup which they won. But after neglecting his knee injury for a long time and playing through it, the player’s fitness levels dropped.
The continuously relapsing setback did not permit him to play or train with his involvement in games over the past two seasons having dropped.
Some clubs in Ligue 1 were said to be interested in his signing but couldn't agree on his wages as the player wanted his current salary to be maintained by his suitors.
