Cristiano Ronaldo has broken an international record that was held by the great Spaniard Sergio Ramos.
With Portugal playing world minnows Qatar last weekend, it was widely unexpected for Ronaldo to take part in the match. However, the 36-year-old was selected.
The event meant that it was Ronaldo's 181st appearance for the national side and it made the Portuguese star the most capped international player in Europe, according to UEFA.
Additionally, Ronaldo is the reigning all-time leading scorer in men's international, the incredible record previously belonged to Iran forward Ali Daei.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo is set to continue stretching the appearances and goals record, starting this week at home to Luxembourg in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier.
