Lionel Messi has confirmed many clubs wasted no time in bidding offers to sign him after leaving FC Barcelona last season.
The greatest footballer of all time was forced to end his 21-year stay at Barca when his contract ran out last July and where the club could not re-sign him because of their financially poor state.
While PSG seemed like the only club that was in the picture to sign the 34-year-old forward, there were actually other clubs that quietly tabled offers in the background.
“I was lucky enough to be contacted by several clubs and one of them was PSG," Messi told France Football.
“I received other proposals, but I must admit that we quickly reached an agreement with PSG.
“Discussions began and it was not easy because everything had to be fixed in a short time, practically overnight, when it was a very difficult operation to complete under the circumstances.
“Obviously, I was seduced by the project, the ambitions of the club, the players at their disposal, the squad.
“All these elements made it easier to quickly reach an agreement,” Messi concluded.
Coming up next for PSG is Ligue 1 action at home to Angers this weekend.
