Mikel Arteta on Lacazette's future and Wilshere plans

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he is focused on getting the best out of Alexander Lacazette amid reports linking him with exit.

According to reports, Lacazette is keen to leave Arsenal in January due to the lack of playing time under Mikel Arteta. The former Lyon striker has made one substitute appearance in the Premier League so far this season and didn't make the starting XI for their two Carabao Cup matches.

"We are focusing on getting the best out of Laca and he shows every day his commitment is here. We just want to give him the right minutes so that he can show his quality and help the team to do better," he said.

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere returned to Arsenal to train with the Gunners players in the hunt for fitness. The midfielder has been without a club since leaving AFC Bournemouth last season and was invited to London Colney by Arteta to train and help with the U23 side.

In his press conference on Thursday, Arteta was asked whether he has a plan for the England midfielder.

"He is around the place and we are trying to help him to get fit. He is training sometimes with us and the academy, he’s around the place and it’s been great to have him around. That will continue to be the case."

The 29-year-old however says he hasn't thought about an Arsenal return since linking up with the club in training this season.
