Anthony Martial did not play against Leicester City owing to an injury he sustained during the international break, according to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Before the international break, he scored the sole goal for his side in a 0-0 draw with Everton, but he was nowhere to be seen at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
The Red Devils scored twice on the day but were defeated 4-2 by Brendan Rodgers' side, and Solskjaer has now explained why Martial was not present.
Speaking to MUTV, the United boss said: "No, he's come back from France [duty] not fit so he's not trained all week. Hopefully, we can have him back soon."
The 25-year-score old's against Everton was his sole goal in seven appearances in all competitions this season, and he's been linked with a shock move to Newcastle United.
United's loss to Leicester extended their winless record in the Premier League to three games as they prepare for their Champions League clash with Atalanta BC on Wednesday.
