Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier has admitted that he wants to return to the Premier League.
The England international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer but a deal couldn't be agreed as United felt his club's demands were way above their expectations.
The player who represented Burnely and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League is said to be homesick and wants to be closer to his family who is said to be living in Manchester.
“I know what I came here to do and I have done it. I came here to try to achieve great things and I’d won the league. I just tried to take it all in. I would love to play in the Premier League again,” Trippier told the Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old who whose last season was interrupted by a charge in relation to aiding gambling is currently embarking on his third full season in the Spanish capital.
Reports indicate that Trippier was confident that he would seal a move to United towards the end of the summer transfer window but a deal couldn't be agreed. He will hope to help Atleti get past Liverpool whom they meet in the Champions League tonight.
