Spanish giants Barcelona have confirmed Ansu Fati will miss Wednesday's LaLiga clash against Rayo Vallecano with a knee injury.
Fati picked up a knock over the weekend in Barcelona's defeat to Real Madrid in the El Clasico following a collision with Jordi Alba. Speaking after the match, head coach Ronald Koeman insisted that the knock didn't cause any great concern.
The 18-year-old was named in Barcelona's matchday squad for the Wednesday game in the morning but the club says he will miss the away trip to Vallecano.
"The first team player Ansu Fati has pain in his right knee. He is unavailable for selection and his recovery will dictate his return," a statement from the Catalans via their Twitter handle read.
It is reported that Fati has been failing pain in his right knee but the club didn't reveal a return date for the Spaniard.
