Four unreal results from last night's European action

Football action continued on Wednesday night across a number of stadia in Europe.

It was a night to forget for some of the big guns though as they suffered humiliating defeats.

Here are some of the shocking results;

Rayo Vallecano 1-0 Barcelona

Barcelona's stuttering start to the season continued on Wednesday night after they went down 1-0 away at Rayo Vallecano.

Former Chelsea and Man United forward Radamel Falcao scored the all-important goal, with Memphis Depay missing a penalty.

The defeat left the Catalan club ninth on the table with only four wins from their opening 10 LaLiga games.

Juventus 1-2 Sassuolo

Just like Barcelona, Juventus seem to have fallen over the past year, and not even the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri seems to be changing this.

The Old Lady of Turin lost at home to ninth-placed Sassuolo, and are now a whopping 13 points off league leaders AC Milan with only nine matches played.

Borussia Moenchengladbach 5-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich were stunned away to Moenchengladbach in a DFB-Pokal tie. The German giants conceded a second-minute goal and were losing 3-0 by the 21st minute.

None of their star men, led by Robert Lewandowski, could dig them out of the deep hole as they conceded two more in the second half to exit the competition.

West Ham 0-0 Man City (5-3 on pen)

Manchester City's hope of clinching a historic fifth straight Carabao Cup title came to a crashing end as they were bundled out at the London Stadium.

A tense match against David Moyes' West Ham was decided by penalties, as the two sides could not be separated in regulation time.
