Antonio Conte still waiting for work permit

Antonio Conte still waiting for work permit

Despite officially taking over the reins of Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, Antonio Conte is still yet to be given a work permit.

The move might see the Italian out of the bench for the Spurs Europa Conference League game with Vitesse on Thursday.

Although he has already won the Premier League at the helm of Chelsea, the work permit situation has changed following Brexit. It means that Conte must apply for a work permit and that can take a few days to come through.

The 52-year-old Italian oversaw Spurs training on Tuesday, but did not lead the session or technically organize it either.

Conte might not be on the bench or in their press conference for Thursday’s Europa Conference League fixture against Vitesse according to La Gazzetta dello Sport by Football Italia.

The tactician however is expected to lead his team in their upcoming game against Everton in the Premier League before the International break.

His first home game won’t be until Leeds United on November 21, after the break for international duty.
