End of an era! Hlompho Kekana has left Mamelodi Sundowns after 10 glittering years with Kabo Yellow.
The news was announced by the DStv champions on Thursday afternoon before the club's next battle with Cape Town City after the FIFA break.
The club revealed that the 36-year-old is leaving ahead of the expiry of his contract at the end of the current season.
"Mamelodi Sundowns and Hlompho Kekana have reached an amicable agreement to part ways," Sundowns said.
"KK, as he is affectionately known, had a contract that was going to conclude at the end of the current (2021/22) season."
"The Zebediela-born Midfielder had a distinguished career over 10 years with Mamelodi Sundowns playing over 350 matches. At the beginning of the season, the player was honoured by the club with a long-service award for his dedication and devotion to the club," the Pretoria giants added.
The midfielder joined Sundowns from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2011 before going on to lift the league title six times and the 2016 CAF Champions League title.
