Europe's 13 spots at next year's World Cup are almost filled following the latest round of qualifying matches.

So far, 10 teams are through to the finals, with three more set to be decided in the play-offs.

Italy and Portugal are among those in the play-offs, alongside the likes of Turkey and Sweden.

⏱️ When will the draw be?

The draw for the UEFA World Cup 2022 play-offs will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021, at  FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

⚽ Which teams are involved?

A total of 12 teams from UEFA compete in the World Cup 2022 play-offs.

  • Italy
  • North Macedonia
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Scotland
  • Sweden
  • Turkey
  • Ukraine
  • Wales

⚙️ How it works

Runners up from the 10 World Cup qualification groups will be joined by the best two UEFA Nations League group winners who did not finish in the top two of the World Cup qualification stage.

The 12 teams will then be divided into three four-team paths, with each path consisting of semi-finals and a final.

The winners of the three finals advance to the World Cup

The play-off semi-final fixtures will be played on March 24-25 with the finals set for March 28-29.
